A story along similar lines to my new book, 'Teardrops in Siam', which provides an unexpected twist in it !

This story is a well known one, with so many girls coming down from Isan and the North of Thailand, to provide money for their families, under the banner of naam-jai. Some even enjoy part of their work, while others regard it as the only way out of poverty, and a way to repay their parents for bringing them up. Siblings know exactly what is going on, but shield the parents from the source of this sudden, unexpected relative wealth. In reality, not only do many of these girls get bored with the dullness of European life, but they miss the warmth of their own climate, and in particular, their spicy breakfasts ! I am not joking! Nowhere else in the world, can they find spicy meals at that time of the day!
