Join David, an Englishman in Thailand, on his adventure to discover the truth about this wonderful country. His journey to find the home of the woman he loves takes him off the beaten track, away from the tourist destinations and far away from the bars of Bangkok. A story of love, sacrifice and passion that will test your emotions to the limit. This is what living in Thailand is really all about! |

I have just finished reading Bangkok Kiss. I have recently moved to Thailand and am living in the country near Chiang Rai. I enjoyed this book, not only because I was able to relate a little to some of it but I found it an excellent story. It gives a good picture of travel in Thailand for a "newbie". I hope David Thompson writes more books about life for a "farang" in Thailand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read, May 13, 2012
By Michael P. Beatty (San Francisco, CA United States)
Living in Bangkok now for two years, I am always interested in peoples tales about their own transition into the Land of Smiles. This author hit the nail on the head. I found myself nodding in agreement, laughing along with him and even shedding a tear.

I would like, if at all possible, that this letter would be forwarded to the author of Bangkok Kiss, Khun David Thompson.
Dear David,
I HAD to write this letter, it might never reach you. I finished reading your book last night. I am so filled up by your story. It never said whether it was fact or fiction I just assumed that it was based on your own life. It was a fantastic read, the language is marvellous, the story so interesting and gripping and of course I couldn’t help weeping with the world.
I’m just home from my first visit to Thailand, only a short one, but having seen many of the environments that you described, it was so easy to imagine the picture you were painting.
Best wishes,
B Enfeldt

Bangkok Kiss
I just wanted to pass on that once I returned to Bangkok and prior to flying back to New Zealand, I purchased and read Bangkok Kiss. I don't know why exactly but in many ways it captured some of my emotions about Thailand, even though our experiences have been different. I thoroughly enjoyed your work and hope that you are able to publish your next book soon.
