Epic Story
"Epic Story! July 14, 2012
By Thomas Joseph Kane
I read 1 or 2 books per week. I downloaded "The Flower Girl" after reading Mr Lilburne's The Thai Dragon and The Kiss of the Dragon. I started to read this last night about 10 pm and did not stop until it was finished in the early hours. This afternoon, I started to read it all over again.....still cannot put it down. I have never done that before. All 3 books are outstanding.
"The Flower Girl" had an old ex Navy Fighter Pilot laughing myself silly in some parts and bawling like a baby in others.
WELL DONE! Mr. Lilburne.....If I ever catch you over in The Land of Smiles, I would be honored to buy you a drink!"

"When "Forest Gump" meets "Suzie Wong" ... January 11, 2013
By miki 101 . Michaela
THIS Thai Novel has everything I like in a Thai novel: Joy, love, crime, hope, friendship, Thailand and Thai people's beliefs and religion, and a great personal development of the main character, too.
I started to read the novel late yesterday evening and I read it in 3 hours without stopping...
And it's one of THOSE Thai novels I will read once more for sure. Because it gave me all I want from a good read: I liked the protagonist as well as the minor "players", the setting in Puhket is perfect because I love that island, and it was the first time someone wrote - something positive about Thai prisons! :)
The story starts with Steven West, 38 years old, is leaving Manchester/England for the first time in his live. Destination: Thailand, Island of Puhket. He is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and not really ugly, but somehow ... insignificant.
At first it's a bit like watching Forest Gump meeting Suzie Wong :)
After his first adventures involving bargirls, a black eye and a massage parlor, he gets himself a scooter for exploring the island. He also has gotten a certain insight about his money, Thai girls and lady drinks ...
Then he meets Pin the Flower Girl. She is selling roses in the streets - and is visibly pregnant. Her Ex, a Leeds character called Dean has a tattoo and a temper, and slowly Pin opens up to Steven and tells him her sad story. Then, on one of their excursions - after visiting the Zoo and a temple where a monk gives them both his blessings and a wristlet to Steven, Pin shows him her secret place. Where the story with Dean ended once and for all...
Steven's fate takes an ugly turn when the police comes to arrest him for the murder of Pin and her unborn child. The leading Detective on the case is a playboy called Sawat Deewat. He is only for 12 months in the police for making merit with Buddha. And, at first he has no intentions to listen to Steven's story - because it's too bizarre to believe.
So Steven will be put into the Puhket Provincial Prison, where he will have some strange encounters. But being a kind character with a jai dee - a good heart - he will find friends and supporters. And the truth will come out and Steven will find his real vocation...
Having read The Thai Dragon, The Kiss of the Dragon, and Cocktails & Dreams, this is an entirely different kind of story.
And I liked it because who knows Thailand and the Thai a bit, also knows something about their beliefs in Phii - ghosts. The foreigner will laugh and say - what a superstitious kinda folks. I say - lucky they are, with an imagination so colourful we farangs can't even imagine in our dreams ... "

"Excellent... 10 May 2013

A fast paced, thoroughly gripping read. Set in Thailand, the descriptive passages make you think you are there. Good story line, and I shall be looking out for more from this author... "

Another Great Read.
"5.0 out of 5 stars Another great read May 24, 2013
By tinman
This author keeps churning out great reads and I have yet to be disappointed in anyway. His troubled main characters are easy to relate to and his bad guys are easy to hate. With each book he introduces people to the Thai culture and the wonderful country of Thailand. I can't wait to read more from Mr. Lilburne. "

'Mr. Lilburne once again spins a great tale. I laughed so hard at times I drew stares from people around me. I can't wait for another book. I would love to meet the author or have a chat next time I am in Thailand'.

You will love this story.
"5.0 out of 5 stars The Flower Girl, 9 Jun 2012
By Ian McAdam
This review is from: The Flower Girl (Kindle Edition)
This is a magical story.
I laughed out loud so much at the antics and views of the main character.
A character that you cannot help but take to your heart.
You will love the childlike, uncorrupted manner of this character that carries him along throughout storyline.
If you have ever been to Karon Beach you will love this story. If you haven't been to Karon Beach you will want to go because you will love this story.
I can not recommend this novel high enough.
I loved every word of it.
Please buy it and enjoy it as much as I did.
Guy Lilburne has really excelled with this. "

Great Read.
"I just finished reading Guy Lilburne's mystery The Thai Dragon and must say that it is one of the best mysteries I have read in years. Lilburne is an internationally published author and a friend of mine. The Thai Dragon moves Lilburne upfront of Lee Childs, and Stephen Leather as the Uk's top three Suspense writers continue to pump out best sellers ....book after book.
If you like a good murder mystery then you're going to love this one.

Smash Hit
"SMASH HIT FOR GUY LILBURNE.... The Kiss of the Dragon without a doubt puts Lilburne at the head of the thriller suspense class of writers. Danny O'Brian is one tough detective; he hits hard, drinks hard and plays hard, but he's also a softy when it comes to pretty woman. I think Lilburne is actaully the real Danny O'Brian and he's just reliving his adventures through Danny. What ever demon or dragon that motivates Lilburne to write I want him to keep listening to it and keep writing.
